Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses the regenerative potential of your own blood to support skin quality and hair health. This treatment involves processing a small blood sample to concentrate platelets and the growth factors they contain, which play an important role in the body’s natural repair processes.
PRP is a personalised treatment that can be used for both skin rejuvenation and hair restoration, with treatment plans tailored to your individual concerns and goals.
- PRP for hair restoration: platelets release growth factors that can help support the hair follicles and their surrounding environment. PRP may be beneficial for certain types of hair thinning, including some cases of androgenetic alopecia.
- PRP for skin rejuvenation: designed to support healthier-looking skin by stimulating the body’s natural repair and renewal processes. The concentrated platelets release growth factors that may help support collagen production and tissue repair, helping to improve overall skin quality over time.
Before Procedure
You will come in for a consultation with Lorena who will discuss whether you qualify for the treatment.
She will then apply a numbing cream to the treated area and leave it on for 15 minutes.
Prior to Treatment:

Avoid Alcohol at least 24 hours (Alcohol may thin the blood, therefore aiding swelling and bruising)

Avoid Blood thinning medicine such as Aspirin & Ibuprofen for 1 week prior to treatment

Avoid Caffeine 24 hours prior to treatment
If you are concerned about swelling or bruising, it is advisable to take Arnica 2-3 days prior to appointment
During Procedure
After the anesthetic takes effect, your practitioner will inject PRP into the selected treatment area. You might feel a slight pinching or pressure while this is done.
After Procedure
Immediately after treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. The results directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result as you will be swollen at this time. After a couple of weeks, you should really start to see the full results.
Avoid touching the treatment area 6 hours after the treatment. After that the area can be gently washed with soap and water and light make-up can be applied.
Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (sun) or extreme cold.
If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.
