Nasolabial Folds/Marionettes

45 mins
£130 each

Marionette lines take their name from marionette puppets, as the lines run from the corners of the mouth down to the chin and resemble the mouth of a puppet. Smile lines, also referred to as the nasolabial folds, run from each side of the nose down to each corner of the mouth. These lines are caused when the skin loses elasticity due to ageing and the damaging effects of sun exposure. Weight loss can also cause marionette lines, when fat is lost on the face and causes crease lines from the mouth to the nose.

Just like other facial lines that are a common concern for lots of people, they become deeper and more noticeable as we age but don’t worry!

With the right treatments we can restore lost facial volume and improve skin health and youthfulness

Before Procedure

You will come in for a consultation with Lorena who will discuss whether you qualify for the treatment. During your medical consultation, we will carefully examine and advise you the best treatment options for you individually. After your consultation, a topical anaesthetic will be applied for 15 minutes prior the treatment to make the area numb to ease any discomfort.

Prior to Treatment:

  • Avoid Alcohol at least 24 hours (Alcohol may thin the blood, therefore aiding swelling and bruising)

  • Avoid Blood thinning medicine such as Aspirin & Ibuprofen for 1 week prior to treatment

  • Avoid Caffeine 24 hours prior to treatment

If you are concerned about swelling or bruising, it is advisable to take Arnica 2-3 days prior to appointment

During Procedure

During the treatment, you may experience some discomfort. This varies between clients as some are simply more sensitive but we use a topical numbing cream before every treatment, this numbs the skin surface before we start. The Dermal Filler that we use also contains lidocaine which is a pain relief ingredient. This keeps clients a lot more comfortable during the procedure and its very rare that anyone has a problem with the pain.

After Procedure

There is no recovery time with dermal fillers, so you can immediately resume normal daily activities. Patients should avoid wearing makeup, excessive alcohol, exercise or sun for the first 24 hours.

The dermal fillers can last from three to six months in this area but it varies between clients depending on lifestyle and metabolism etc.
