Tear Trough Correction

1 hr
£150 - initial treatment
£20 - 4 wk follow up

Dark circles and tear troughs (the sunken hollows under your eyes) can both create an aged, tired or unhealthy look. While dark circles can sometimes be resolved with adequate sleep, good hydration and a healthy lifestyle, tear troughs are a much trickier problem to tackle.

Tear troughs, or sunken eye sockets, can be brought on by ageing as the collagen production slows down and the skin thins and sags.

In the past, the only effective treatment available to improve the appearance of tear troughs was surgery.

Now, thanks to the progression of the aesthetics industry, tear trough fillers (also known as under eye fillers) offer you a safe and effective, non-surgical solution!

Using hyaluronic dermal fillers we can plump up and smooth out the area around your eye and the orbital bone (the eye socket), reducing the appearance of tear troughs and minimizing shadows under your eyes. Giving you fresher, more youthful eyes and restoring your confidence in your appearance.

Before Procedure

You will come in for a consultation with Lorena who will discuss whether you qualify for the treatment.

She will then apply a numbing cream to the treated area and leave it on for 15 minutes.

Prior to Treatment:

  • Avoid Alcohol at least 24 hours (Alcohol may thin the blood, therefore aiding swelling and bruising)

  • Avoid Blood thinning medicine such as Aspirin & Ibuprofen for 1 week prior to treatment

  • Avoid Caffeine 24 hours prior to treatment

If you are concerned about swelling or bruising, it is advisable to take Arnica 2-3 days prior to appointment

During Procedure

Once the cream has taken effect she will inject the filler using a tiny needle or cannula (depending one consultation) You may feel a little discomfort as the filler goes in, but most people find it easily tolerable.

After Procedure

Once the procedure is done you can go home. It is possible that you will have some swelling, bruising, and redness. The bruising and swelling as well as the other side effects usually improve after 48 to 72 hours.
It is important that you follow post-treatment guidelines:

  • No makeup

  • No smoking for at least 4 hours after and no alcohol for that day

  • Avoid sleeping face down

  • Avoid intense activity or exercise for 48 hours

  • No sauna, solarium, and excess sun exposure for 1 week

  • No facial massage/cosmetic or dental treatments for at least 2 weeks after

Results last one to two years, depending upon your lifestyle. Because the tear trough isn’t a very mobile place, it takes your body longer to absorb the hyaluronic acid which means the filler breaks down slower than in other parts of the body.
